The Eltham College family of schools – which includes Eltham College Junior and Senior Schools and Blackheath Prep – offers an inspiring environment in which both students and staff are supported to learn, develop and thrive. Founded in 1842, Eltham College is a thriving co-educational community of 1,100 students, including 240 pupils in the on-site Junior School. Recently named “Independent School of the Year 2024 (London)” in the Parent Power, Sunday Times Schools Guide, the School enjoys increasing levels of academic success, excellent co-curricular opportunities and pastoral care. Blackheath Prep is a remarkable school for just over 370 boys and girls aged 3 to 11. Occupying a beautiful five-acre site close to Blackheath village, it merged with Eltham College in April 2023 to form a family of schools.
The Director of Marketing and Communications will shape and instil a new family wide vision, strategy and brand for the Eltham College family of schools. This is a pivotal new leadership role, responsible for the development and execution of an ambitious and cohesive strategy for marketing and communications to support pupil recruitment and the wider charitable activities of the family of schools.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working as a key member of the Executive Team, the post holder will bring vision, leadership and professional expertise to inspire and engage a diverse community of internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be an effective and experienced strategic marketer, with an extensive professional skillset and demonstrable track record in strategic marketing, communications, brand management and leading successful teams – gained from within or outside the education sector. They will have confidence, creativity and charisma, but also demonstrate subtlety and flexibility in order to engage a wide range of stakeholders in the successful delivery of the Eltham College family’s strategic aims.
