IT Service Desk Analyst in St Albans
About the Role
Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting for an IT Service Desk Analyst on a 3-month fixed-term contract for our client based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional who enjoys hands-on technical support and customer service within a dynamic and multi-site environment.
You will be required to provide onsite IT support to users across multiple office locations, including Milton Keynes, Rickmansworth, and London. Therefore, a full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential.
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire (with travel to Milton Keynes, Rickmansworth, and London)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (pro-rata) + overtime available
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed-term (3 months)
Key Responsibilities
* First-line IT support, logging and responding to user incidents via the ITSM platform.
* Provide excellent customer service to colleagues and end-users.
* Conduct troubleshooting and initial investigations before escalating to the 2nd line team.
* Onboarding new employees, conducting IT inductions and providing basic IT training.
* Work closely with third-party suppliers and vendors to resolve IT-related issues.
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 3 years experience in an IT support/service desk role.
* Strong understanding of Microsoft client operating systems and applications.
* Experience with Azure Active Directory administration (users and computers).
* Knowledge of Office 365 applications (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online).
* Hardware diagnostics and fault-finding experience.
* Basic Citrix Virtual Desktop administration knowledge.
* Understanding of LAN and WAN network topologies.
* Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server (basic level).
* Experience using FreshService or other ITSM tools.
* Knowledge of Wolters Kluwer – CCH Central, Audit Automation, and Document Management (desirable).
* Competence with computer hardware and peripherals.
* Experience with mobile devices (iPhones and Android).
* Ability to log and maintain detailed support tickets.
