Job Title: Cosmetic Repairers
Salary: £23,000 - £30,000 OTE, plus Bonuses
Location: Somerset, Taunton areas
We are currently in search of hard surface cosmetic repairers, ideally with a fine finishing background (e.g., Vehicle Repair and Paint Technicians, Factory Furniture Sprayers, Factory Metal Finishing Sprayers). Candidates must use a spray gun, not be colour blind, and have a keen eye for detail. Cosmetic surface repairers in the building trade would be a bonus; however, training will be provided for less experienced candidates.
The client is open to considering candidates without a cosmetic repairs background, as training will be provided. They are looking for individuals with a great eye for intricate detail, such as chefs or cleaners.
Company Overview: The client operates across Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, and parts of Dorset. They are a family-oriented company that supports employees and fosters a team environment.
Clients: The clientele includes major national house builders, regional house builders, small sole traders, plumbers, kitchen fitters, electricians, bricklayers, local authorities, universities, schools, MOD, care homes, hospitals, private homeowners, and manufacturers of doors and windows.
Desired Locations: Initially, the preferred locations for new teams and staff are the Somerset M5 corridor, Wellington, Taunton, Bridgewater, and Weston-super-Mare.
Salary Structure: Starting salary is £23,000, increasing to £24,000 plus bonus after the first year for a capable proven track record. Higher achievers can earn up to £30,000 and more.
Hours of Work: Salary-based role with additional bonuses after the first 12 months. Typical working hours are from 8:30 AM, completing up to 8 hours of work per day, with variances based on site distance and workload.
Job Variation: Each day presents different tasks and locations, from multi-build projects to high-end renovations and historical properties.
Driving: Distances to sites vary from 5 minutes to approximately 1.5 hours. A van and fuel are supplied and paid for by the company.
Uniform: Supplied (excluding trousers, which must be black or navy blue, NOT jeans).
PPE: Supplied by the company.
Company Van: Issued for business use only, fitted with a tracker, and fully kitted with materials and equipment after the first two weeks.
Company Mobile Phone: Provided during the first two weeks of training.
Company Credit Card: Issued for company fuel purchases only, with prior email authorization required for other purchases.
Bonuses: Monthly bonus system commences after 12 months of service, subject to health performance. New customer sales and new site bonuses commence immediately.
Holidays: 21 days per year plus bank holidays.
Pension: Standard workplace pension (government state pension with a top-up).
Candidate Requirements:
1. Must not be colour blind.
2. Comfortable working at height (from ladders, tower scaffolds, etc.).
3. CSCS Card holders can arrange this during training (small fee for card and touchscreen test).
Basic Training:
1. First two weeks: Classroom training with practical in-house training, delivery of equipment, and understanding of methods and materials.
2. Third week: 4 days with a trained technician followed by one day on own.
3. Fourth week: 3 days with a trained technician followed by two days on own.
4. Fifth week: 2 days with a trained technician followed by three days on own.
5. Sixth week: 1 day with a trained technician and four days on own.
