Job summary Job Overview To lead on the development, agreement, implementation and maintenance of effective prescribing and medicines management initiatives, policies, procedures and guidelines between primary and secondary health care sectors to deliver safe, appropriate rational, evidence based cost-effective prescribing for patients across the Leicestershire health community. In so doing, the post holder will have authority to make decisions on behalf of and act in relation to the populations of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB. Main duties of the job Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities) To work with others to promote rational medicines prescribing across the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR) health community and to encourage safe, appropriate and economic prescribing for patients. To contribute to the pharmaceutical aspects of medicines management across LLR especially on issues relating to clinical governance and the priorities of the NHS. To facilitate the agreement and implementation of medicines management initiatives at the primary secondary interface to deliver cost-effective, evidence based prescribing / medicines management.
