As we expand, we are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Executive Researcher to support our headhunting and sales operations through market mapping, data analysis, and talent intelligence. This role is critical in ensuring Trident Search has the most comprehensive insights into the cyber security talent landscape, allowing us to deliver data-driven recruitment strategies for our clients.
The Role
As an Executive Researcher, you will play a crucial role in market intelligence, sales operations, and talent research, ensuring that Trident Search is ahead of the curve when it comes to identifying and securing top cybersecurity talent.
You will be responsible for mapping out the global cybersecurity market, breaking it down into highly specific areas based on geography, industry verticals, skill sets, and emerging trends. Your work will provide our consultants and clients with real-time insights into hiring trends, competitor structures, and executive movements, ensuring we remain the go-to firm for high-growth cybersecurity companies.
Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Market Mapping & Talent Intelligence
* Map out the entire cybersecurity market, segmenting it into key areas such as:
* Geographic regions (USA, EMEA, APAC)
* Industry specializations (Threat Intelligence, Offensive Security, Cloud Security, Identity & Access Management, etc.)
* Growth-stage companies vs. established players
* Identifying talent at various levels e.g. GTM Leaders who are experts at $0m-$10m.
* Technical vs. commercial roles (CTOs, CISOs, Red Teamers, Sales & GTM Leaders, etc.)
* Conduct deep-dive research on cyber security talent pools, tracking key individuals, hiring trends, and skill shortages.
* Develop and maintain detailed talent intelligence reports to support executive search mandates.
* Track executive movements, funding rounds, and strategic hires within cyber security startups and scale-ups.
* Build and manage a real-time database of top cyber security executives, including their skills, backgrounds, and potential fit for clients.
Sales Operations & Data Analytics
* Manage and optimize our CRM system, ensuring data accuracy and structured talent intelligence.
* Develop and maintain real-time dashboards, reports, and KPIs to provide insights into hiring trends, market dynamics, and business performance.
* Assist consultants with data-driven insights into search strategies, ensuring an efficient and targeted approach to executive search.
* Analyze search and placement data to identify patterns, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in our recruitment strategy.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience: 2+ years in market research, sales operations, data analysis, or executive search support, ideally within cyber security recruitment, technology search, or B2B SaaS talent intelligence.
* Market Mapping Expertise: Strong understanding of how to break down the cyber security industry into structured, research-driven categories.
* Tech-Savvy: Experience with CRM tools, Excel sheets, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
* Cyber security Awareness: Familiarity with key cybersecurity technologies, hiring trends, and major players in the industry is a strong advantage.
* Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze large datasets, track trends, and translate data into actionable insights.
* Detail-Oriented: A methodical and structured approach to research, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
