We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Leeds, a category B Prison located in Gloucester Terrace in the Armley area of Leeds in West Yorkshire.
Hours
37.5 hours a week working, 1 2.5 hour shifts from 7am-8.30pm working 3 days with maybe a make up shift across the month. 2 weekends a month. Night shifts 8pm-7.30am preferably once a month.
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning
* Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model
* Be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
* Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers. You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information
* Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions. You will occasionally be required to support dispensing
* Have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person-centred approach.
Qualifications required
* Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
* RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
* Experience of working with opiate dependent patients.
* Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
