As a Fraud Operations Analyst at Nala, you will be at the heart of our mission to protect our customers and business from financial crime. Youâll work with our dynamic team to identify and prevent fraudulent activities across our payment platform. Your role will involve analysing transactions, detecting suspicious patterns, and providing timely responses to emerging threats. By using data-driven insights and advanced tools, youâll help maintain the security and trust that our customers rely on every day.
đŻ Your responsibilities in this role
* Review alerts and investigate potential fraud cases to identify and prevent fraudulent activity, protecting our customers and the business.
* Assist the fraud team with day-to-day tasks, working collaboratively to improve our fraud prevention systems and processes.
* Suggest improvements to the alert system, processes, and tasks based on your analysis and experience, helping to build a more efficient and effective fraud protection strategy.
* Support in data analysis, including basic tasks using tools like Excel and SQL, to identify trends and patterns in fraudulent activity.
* Collaborate with other teams to implement solutions that improve fraud detection, streamline workflows, and enhance overall security.
* Learn and develop with the goal of moving to a more senior position over time, including responsibilities for more complex fraud investigations and potentially building tools and rules to improve fraud detection.
đ„ Must-Have Job Requirements
* 1-2 years of experience in a fraud operations or similar position, with a strong understanding of fraud detection and prevention practices.
* Ambitious and proactive with the ability to suggest and implement improvements to fraud alerts, processes, and tasks.
* Tech-savvy, with experience using tools like Slack, Gmail, Excel, and SQL. Basic data analysis skills are required to help identify trends and insights.
* A desire to grow into more senior roles, including handling complex fraud investigations and contributing to the development of tools, rules, and systems for fraud detection.
* Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage and resolve potential fraud cases.
* Good communication skills for working within a team and with other departments, providing clear and concise updates on fraud activity.

* Take-Home Task
Weâll send you a dataset of transaction records for you to analyse. Your task is to propose strategies to enhance our fraud detection processes, helping us stay one step ahead in the fight against fraud.
* 1-Hour Task Review & Q&A Interview
During this session, youâll walk us through your approach to the task, explaining your thought process and findings. Weâll also discuss your experience, skills, and dive deeper into the specifics of the role.
* 30-Minute Final Interview with Our CTO
In this final conversation, youâll meet with our Chief Technology Officer to explore how your experience aligns with the broader goals of the team and Nalaâs mission. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our culture and future vision.
