Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* RSPH Level 3 Diploma Anatomical Pathology Technology
* Level 4 Diploma Anatomical Pathology Technology or Pre 2015 RSPH or RIPHH certificate and diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology
* CPD evidence within the last 12 months
* Pre 2015 RSPH or RIPHH certificate and diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology
Desirable criteria
* Professional registration e.g., AHCS, Science Council
* Membership with AAPT
* IT training certificate
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Comprehensive experience working in a post mortem examination active mortuary as a qualified APT
* Experience of Quality Management systems and mortuary record keeping
* Using QPulse or equivalent QMS system, reviewing and updating new documents
* Knowledge and experience of working in a training environment
* Experience of creating rosters and delegating tasks
* Experience of participation in High Risk and Forensic post mortem examinations
Desirable criteria
* Major incident experience
* Conflict resolution training
* Experience of regulatory inspections, HTA, UKAS, CQC
* Experience of cross-site working
* Experience of working On Call
* Trained consent taker
Skills
Essential criteria
* Multiple evisceration techniques
* Advanced reconstruction techniques
* Brain and spinal cord donation
* Training, supervising, mentoring APTs and trainee APTs
* Good communication skills
* Good understanding of Microsoft Office, quality management systems
* Managing accurate traceability
Desirable criteria
* Use of Telepath or equivalent LIMS, EDEN, QPulse
* Specialist skills (tissue retention, tissue harvesting)
* Counselling skills
* Implementing change
