Summary: The Contract Manager is responsible for operating, maintaining, optimising and improving the water and/or wastewater assets at their assigned customer locations. This will involve all aspects of the plant operations including process operations, maintenance, asset care, development projects, resource management, risk management, cost management and contract management. The Contract Manager is expected to drive operational excellence and significantly improve the reliability and efficiency of the wastewater systems and add to the overall business delivery. You will take full P&L responsibility for the sites and will look to increase the profitability of the contracts and identify opportunities for business growth. As part of the role, you will be expected to be onsite in Scarborough for a minimum of 3 days per week. Travel to other sites across the UK may be required on an as/when basis.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Visible leadership on HSE issues at all levels both in the client organisation and internally.
* Implement and maintain HSE systems and processes for assigned sites.
* Identify and mitigate HSE risks for assigned sites.
* Control of P&L through effective budget setting, customer management and cost control.
* Successfully deliver projects with strong focus on schedule, quality and cost.
* Recognition of risks to company & contract and apply appropriate risk management strategies.
* Analyse operational and process risks within the context of long-term site service contract and manage these to minimise impact.
* Development of improvement plans to reduce contractual risk.
* Establish and maintain professional relationships with Customer personnel, Company employees and sub-contractor staff.
* Ensure team exhibit proactive attitude to maintaining contract compliance and improving plant performance.
* Drive continual improvement in all areas of the contracts assigned.
* Recognise additional opportunities for Company at Customer site through close working relationships and understanding customer operations.
* Lead incident response, in conjunction with Senior Management Team.
* Develop plant KPI’s and other resources to ensure clear & efficient monitoring of plant performance.
* Identify and fill in gaps associated with technical documentation and procedures required at plant.
* Establish quality standards for sites and ensure that these are always met.
* Ensure adequate resources are available to fulfil contractual requirements.
* Support the development of training and competence material & ensure that all staff fulfil these requirements.
* Establish Company culture on assigned sites while incorporating best practices from the client side.
Required Skills/Qualifications (Essential):
* Extensive Water/Wastewater experience, in a leadership role.
* Proven track record in full management of a P&L.
* Ability to lead a customer through the sales process.
* Proven ability to manage and respond to incidents.
* Experience working directly with a customer including leading, facilitating, and contributing to meetings.
* Experience in managing a team of operators, skilled technicians and engineers.
* Project management experience.
* High level of IT literacy.
Required Skills/Qualifications (Desirable):
* Strong familiarity with Contract Terms & Conditions.
* Experience in developing & negotiating contracts with clients and suppliers.
* Dispute management experience.
* Certificate/training in Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety systems.
* Strong knowledge of budgets and budget control.
* Ability to manage site/operations managers.
* Experience working with regulatory bodies.
Working for us means:
The salary is between £40,000 & £50,000 per year, depending on your professional experience.
Bonus up to 10%.
Hours of Work – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Holidays – 25 days + 8 statutory days.
Probationary Period – 6 months.
Pension – Can join immediately or auto enrolled after 3 months - Employee 4.5% and Employer 4.5% via salary sacrifice.
Eligible to join Private Healthcare after successfully completing probation.
Enrolled in Group Income Protection and Death in Service (4 x basic salary) upon commencement of employment.
Notice – 1 week during probation, increasing to 1 month thereafter.
