Location: National / Remote Working, United Kingdom
A leading civil engineering contractor with a huge presence in the water sector is seeking to recruit an experienced Estimator to support the pre-construction division across a range of frameworks in England.
The role is home-based with occasional travel required. There is the option for it to be hybrid working should that be preferable.
This role should appeal to an Estimator with experience gained within the dirty water sector as many of the tenders are for MEICA projects up to £100M in value.
The Role
1. Preparation of the detailed scope from drawings, specifications and a PCD that details the outline scope on a number of MEICA / Mechanical schemes.
2. Prepare abstract of material and sub-contract requirements for sourcing and pricing.
3. Technical and commercial appraisal of material and subcontractor quotations to ensure full coverage of the scope is priced.
4. Preparation of analytical estimates including the detailed appraisal of the Mechanical (& Electrical ideally) packages and attendances required.
5. Contribute to the identification of risk and pricing of risks throughout the bid.
6. Attend site visits ad hoc during tender period.
7. Contribute towards the preparation of the M&E “Tender Book” to collate and present the Mechanical estimate.
8. Prepare Top-Down-Estimate using the Framework agreed schedules of rates and Cost curves for benchmarking as part of the review process.
Experience Required
1. Suitable Estimators will be educated to Degree level.
2. Experience working as a MEICA or Mechanical Estimator within the water sector.
3. Experienced pricing medium to large value MEICA projects.
4. Previous experience in wastewater/sewerage treatment and process.
5. Familiar with Civil Engineering Method of Measurement.
6. Full driving licence.
