About the Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a pivotal role in supporting the teaching and learning process within the classroom. You will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to ensure that students receive the highest standard of education. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting Classroom Teaching: Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons, supporting students in their learning, and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
* Leading Small Group and 1:1 Support: Lead targeted small group sessions or 1:1 interventions to help students who need additional support or to challenge more able learners.
* Teaching Responsibilities: In the absence of the class teacher, you may be required to take the lead in delivering lessons to the whole class, ensuring learning objectives are met.
* Providing Additional Support for SEN Students: Support students with special educational needs (SEN), tailoring your approach to meet individual learning needs and helping them overcome challenges.
* Preparing Learning Resources: Work with the teaching team to prepare materials, resources, and activities that support students' learning, both in the classroom and for home learning tasks.
* Promoting Positive Behaviour: Foster a respectful and productive classroom environment by promoting positive behaviour and helping resolve any issues in a fair and supportive manner.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic HLTA with the following skills and qualifications:
* HLTA Qualification or Equivalent
* Experience in a classroom or educational setting, ideally as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, with a sound understanding of the national curriculum.
* Strong Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and parents. You should be able to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
* Classroom Management: Proven experience in managing a classroom effectively, supporting students in staying focused and engaged in their learning.
* Adaptability and Initiative: The ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and be flexible to meet the needs of the students and the school.
* A Passion for Education: A strong commitment to helping students achieve their full potential and a desire to work within an inclusive learning environment.
