To support the management of EBD (Environmental Business Division) EMEA operations (planning, budget, reporting,.) and provide strategic analysis on new business innovation initiatives.
1. Support the operation of the EMEA EBD unit (under leadership of head of EMEA EBD). The unit consists of ca. 9 headcounts and a budget of ca. 3 M£.
2. Provide strategic analysis of markets, innovation trends and startups companies.
What you’ll be doing
The role will also be responsible for:
Unit operations: drive the planning, budgeting, pacing and reporting process of the unit, in close collaboration with head of the unit as well as with corporate global management. Ensure the fitness and on-time delivery of deliverables due by the unit to corporate global management, in close cooperation with New Business Innovation leaders. Resolve programmatic issues and escalate when necessary.
Strategic analysis: Assess business ecosystems and competitive dynamics in energy, mobility and industrial sectors. Explore and analyze markets and trends in the target sectors and identify venture opportunities. Scout databases, reports and attend conferences / meetings to identify interesting startups and corporate partners and track them in a structured manner. Analyze startups and corporate partners strengths and weaknesses, assets, finance capacities and business models. Prepare regular update reports and other communications materials for internal stakeholders. Support ad-hoc presentations,
Collaboration : be the platform for operational issues with the units and be a key contact partner and contributor to Hitachi’s Corporate Venture Office CVO).
What you bring to the team
We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. The role will be a mixture of remote-hybrid work with days in the Hitachi Office.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:
3. Bachelor's Degree and / or Masters in an area such as Finance, Business Administration, Sustainability Strategy, Technology & Information Management or equivalent
4. 4+ years of professional experience, either or both in strategy and/or management support. Experience with startups is a plus.
5. Ability to support unit operation with impeccable inter-personal and reporting skills.
6. Versed into strategic analysis and taste for startup and corporate venture environment.
7. Detail-oriented, analytical, and inquisitive.
8. Extremely organized, inclination for structure and strong time-management skills
9. Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
10. Ability to understand big picture and to break-down into smaller operational pieces.
11. Works well under pressure.
12. Confident and credible communication skills: ability to foster collaboration across the unit and with external stakeholders.
13. Ability and taste to synthetize large amount of information into clear and crisp messages, presentation skills.
14. Fluency in English, a second European language is a plus
