We have an immediate opening for the regular, full-time position of Planner II. The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in planning and be accredited by the Canadian Institute of Planners. Candidates who do not yet meet the full qualifications of the position are encouraged to apply and may be accepted in a development role as a Planner leading to a Planner II.
You possess five years of experience in local government land use planning. Expert knowledge of the Local Government Act, Community Charter and Agricultural Land Commission Act, as well as other relevant provincial legislation is required. The successful candidate must hold a valid BC driver’s license.
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Planner II is a senior technical role responsible for reviewing and processing complex land use applications for electoral areas and member municipalities and presenting the recommendations to the Board of Directors, committees and municipal Councils.

This is a regular, full-time position (35 hours/week) with a starting annual salary of $86,905, increasing to $99,900 over time, as well as an extensive benefits package and generous compressed work schedule.
