At the University Hospital of North Midlands, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and proactive Occupational Therapist who would like to work as part of a friendly, welcoming and supportive Therapy team, as we introduce an Occupational Therapy post to join the Paediatric team at Royal Stoke University Hospital, including PICU, HDU and the Neonatal Unit. This post sits within our Network Services Division at UHNM, where you will also have close support and links with the Advanced Occupational Therapists and will be working as part of a therapy team supported by Physiotherapists and Therapy Technicians. Joining the Paediatric Team at Royal Stoke will mean that you are joining a driven and motivated team, who strive to provide care, with babies, children and families, at the core of everything we do. The post holder will be responsible for leading the Occupational Therapy treatment and service development within this specialist area, providing clinical expertise to the teams. The role also incorporates team management; alongside a team of Advanced Physiotherapists, you will be jointly responsible for the co-ordination of a dynamic therapy team comprising of Physiotherapists and Therapy Technicians. Main duties of the job The Therapy department at UHNM is made up of two divisional based teams within multiple clinical areas; this means we are fortunate in being able to offer a large pool of expertise for support and development opportunities. We also have excellent links with regional universities. The successful candidate will be involved in student education as well as staff in-service training. Personal and professional development is supported through annual appraisal and internal/external training. The post will be supervised by a Principal Therapist. Therapy Services work within a 7 day shift system therefore there is a requirement to work weekends and bank holidays.
