Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Part-Time Fixed Term)
27 hours per week, 34 weeks per year (45ppf)
We are seeking to appoint a part-time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) until the end of the Summer term, ideally with an English focus, to join our team as soon as possible. The role of the HLTA is to provide support for students, teachers, and the School in order to raise learning standards for Special Education Needs & Disability (SEND) students in class.
As a HLTA, your responsibilities would include:
* Working as a member of a team providing learning support assistance to the pupils of the school.
* Establishing productive working relationships with pupils and teachers, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
* Providing in-class support for identified pupils to enable them to access the curriculum and make progress against targets, including supporting the development of skills in literacy, numeracy, communication, and social and behavioral needs.
* Ensuring a first-class standard of teaching by adapting class/group learning activities for SEND pupils and adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs.
* Undertaking planning and teaching sessions for small learning support groups.
What we are looking for:
* Educated up to A-Level or equivalent (essential).
* Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Qualification Level 4 (essential).
* Previous experience working in a school or with young people (essential).
* Science or English support experience (desirable).
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written (essential).
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy (essential).
