Our client is a privately owned residential developer within the construction industry. A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced, enthusiastic and driven freelance quantity surveyor to join their team working within a company that has traditional values and a family-oriented culture.

The Role:
The role will include managing the financial accounts of the overall development, preparing and delivering valuation reports on time, which will then be reviewed, reporting to the Managing Director and the commercial responsibility of the project. The role will be based from the head office in the West Midlands with site visits when required. Experience of residential new builds and apartment new builds would be beneficial.
Key responsibilities:
1. Procurement and letting of subcontractor packages i.e., send out enquiries, place orders, control payments
2. Preparing and meeting dates for sub-contract and main contractor valuations
3. Subcontract payments and preparation for final accounts
4. Submission of Cost value reconciliations
5. Measurement of subcontract works against original valuation
6. Identify and agreement of change for variations
7. Advising on main/sub contract conditions
8. Assist in the progression of the company
9. Manage multiple developments
10. Agreeing and pricing variations
11. Cost Management
12. Budget control
13. Materials quantifying and ordering
14. Final accounting
The Candidate:
Ideally, the successful candidate will be dynamic, driven, committed, and loyal individual with good commercial experience, capable of working under their own initiative with minimum supervision who is searching for a new opportunity where they can become an influential member of a successful management team.
The candidate will need to have experience of working on similar types of residential construction projects and should have a positive can-do attitude and be confident in dealing with clients.
A Construction degree or related discipline (HNC or HND) preferred with the relevant experience within a similar position.
A CSCS card is required.
Salary and Benefits:
On offer is a day rate of up to £360 / day (Dependent on Experience).
