Sutton Recruitment is working with a leading mineral manufacturer based in the Driffield area and is looking to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the post of Maintenance Team Leader. This will suit a candidate who has a mechanical bias.
As Maintenance Team Leader you will be responsible for providing and organising mechanical and electrical maintenance for all operational activities and equipment on site. You will ensure that all planned and preventative maintenance is carried out in accordance with the CMMS maintenance plans. You will be responsible for ensuring that daily inspections are carried out, including identification, reporting, and rectification of faults to reduce breakdowns and improve plant reliability.
Working daily and under the guidance of the Site Manager to accomplish plant objectives in areas of Safety, Environmental, Recovery, Quality, Reliability, Production, efficiency, Cost Reduction and innovation. Efficient planning and proactive strategy development for optimisation of plant, equipment & reports.
Accountable for the safe and efficient running of the Maintenance department, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all staff, visitors, and members of the public around all areas of operation.
Role Description
1. Carry out a full range of engineering and maintenance duties for the entire site, diagnosing and resolving faults.
2. Use predictive maintenance methods and knowledge of machinery and environment to ensure maximum uptime of plant and equipment.
3. Use of CMMS system to record maintenance and breakdown activities.
4. Proactive in maintaining, developing and implementing site improvement processes or projects to make the plant safe, deliver site efficiency and performance.
5. Scheduling work, resources, time, and ordering of parts and equipment in line with the maintenance budget.
6. Executing work to specific Health and Safety, Company and Industry Standards and Regulations to ensure operational excellence, quality and safety and that all maintenance is carried out using Safe Systems of Work.
7. Support local contractor management processes ensuring they are following Health and Safety Standards.
8. Ensure all tasks are sufficiently risk assessed and safe systems of work developed and suitable control measures implemented.
9. Ensures adherence to and compliance with both company standards and those of the 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001 company accreditations.
10. Maintain housekeeping standards and routine inspections are carried out across the area of responsibility.
11. Have responsibility for the recording and management of stock.
12. Play an active role in OEE to improve efficiency within the business unit and the wider company.
13. Minimise all business losses as reasonably practicable.
14. To operate the site in an environmentally responsible manner and comply with company procedures and statutory regulations.
Required Experience
1. Time served apprentice.
2. BTEC/NVQ or equivalent.
3. IOSH but not essential.
4. Experience in Lean Manufacturing Methods and Root Cause Analysis will be advantageous.
5. Experience of safely maintaining medium to heavy plant (Preferably screening, crushing, milling, dust extractions, mixers, conveyors, pneumatic blowers) with basic skills in machining, welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
6. IT Skills particularly Microsoft Office suite.
7. Experience in using a CMMS system to record maintenance activities.
The normal working hours are 8am-4pm Mon-Fri with call out as and when required which is covered by time being given back.
