Job Description
The salary for this role is £31,100, with full-time on-site attendance required during the probationary period for training. After successfully completing probation, on-site attendance will be reduced to 3 days per week.
This role is based at the following site: Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
The Role
Join our team as a Group Coordinator, where you'll be an essential part of the Unit Operations Support Team, providing dedicated assistance to select Group Leaders within the Electrical Engineering Unit (EEU). In this role, you'll help streamline day-to-day operations and support specific teams through activities such as workforce planning, succession planning, recruitment, and information management. You'll also collaborate with other coordinators within the unit for added support.
In this role, you will assist Group Leaders by managing schedules, meetings, key metrics, communications, and action tracking. Additionally, you'll provide secretarial support for technical meetings, including preparing materials, documenting outcomes, and ensuring timely follow-up on actions.
We’re looking for a self-motivated individual who can excel in a dynamic, technical environment and proactively prioritise workload using their initiative. If you have a professional approach to business needs and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, we’d love to hear from you.
Additional responsibilities will include:
* Represent the Group at select forums and meetings on behalf of the Group Leader.
* Create and manage key technical documentation, including spreadsheets, reports, and dashboards, while maintaining the Group’s SharePoint sub-sites.
* Advise on document management processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and ensuring adherence to UKAEA procedures.
* Manage procurement requests, acting as the main requisitioner and liaising with suppliers to source parts/components.
* Coordinate workforce planning, assist with recruitment, and support succession planning and talent development for the Group.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Relevant qualification, e.g., NVQ or equivalent experience.
* IT literate, fluent in Microsoft Office, including Excel and SharePoint, as well as various business-related databases.
* Ability to train and develop Team members on relevant IT.
* Strong interpersonal, networking, and influencing abilities, combined with effective teamwork, planning, and organizational skills.
* A professional approach to business needs with the ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.
* Capable of identifying and implementing process improvements.
