A dynamic opportunity has arisen to work within the Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council Library Service as part of a wider Growth, Enterprise and Environment Directorate. We are recruiting to the following vacancy:
Home and Community Delivery Assistant
18.5 hours per week
Saturdays will be on a rota basis, with the balance of the hours worked over weekdays.
Current rota pattern stands as:
1. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
2. Week 2: Thursday and Friday repeating
We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and flexible person to be part of a newly developed and evolving Library Service and who is interested in providing an innovative and outstanding service to the wider community.
You will be motivated to work as part of a team implementing excellent and creative library engagement to the residents and communities of the borough, ensuring a high level of customer service, and actively promoting and encouraging the use of library services and resources.
In particular, delivering the libraries home and community delivery offer, maintaining contact with communities who are unable to access our library buildings. We would like to see your talents and interests put to use in libraries, within communities, and at engagement events and community pop-ups.
There will be a requirement to cover/assist with the courier service too.
Please tell us about any relevant experience of working within front-facing services, ideally within a Libraries or customer service environment, and have some experience of planning, promoting, and delivering fun and engaging events and activities. You should be a team player but also self-motivated to fulfil the requirement of helping develop the service further.
This role has a large requirement of driving, and you need to be able to drive a van. Please check what categories are covered on your licence at Driving licence categories - GOV.UK.
The minimum requirement needed is a Category B - if you passed your test on or after 1 January 1997. You can drive vehicles up to 3,500kg maximum authorised mass (MAM) with up to 8 passenger seats.
