The Job To lead and manage the site and direct line reports to ensure that the site operates in a safe, effective and efficient manner. To ensure that sales requirements are achieved in line with volume requirements and quality and within budgeted cost levels, by effectively implementing production plans and optimising plant efficiencies whilst ensuring compliance with company procedures and legislation. The successful candidate will:- Maintain and manage a site structure which enables the production and delivery of feed of consistently satisfactory quality, whilst complying with the relevant policies, procedures and legislation and achieving minimum cost. Lead the mill team with effective leadership, motivation and team building to empower the individuals to take responsibility and ownership. Drive a continuous improvement culture within the mill through the application of lean manufacturing tools. Work with the Head of Engineering to jointly devise and deliver capital projects, that align to and deliver the business strategy for the site, in line with the budgeted costs and timescales. Build effective relationships with other functions and suppliers to understand and ensure customer expectations are met. Maintain hygiene standards on site for a safe working environment and meet the requirements of the relevant assurance schemes Responsible for the achievement of the agreed budget for the site, whilst continually striving for greater efficiency. Ensure the achievement of feed safety is always a priority Ensure that there is an effective maintenance program in place that minimises unplanned downtime. Adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental. To ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice, are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS, & NOPS assurance schemes. of a Workshop. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED Essential Experience in a FMCG manufacturing environment. Accountability in a management role with HSE responsibility. BRC or Similar standards of operation.
