Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Scheduler to join our clients dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising production schedules to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of products. Key to the role is the use of forecast (IBM Cognos) and ERP model (Sage 1000), incorporating production performance intelligence and Demand Planning inputs to produce efficient production plans to maintain customer service level whilst minimising obsolescence.
This role requires excellent communication and co-ordination skills – key to the role is the ability to communicate with and co-ordinate internal stakeholders to ensure stock availability for customer sales orders.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor inventory levels against forecast and plan production orders to meet customer deliveries along with adequate safety stocks.
* In close co-operation with the Planning Manager, create, monitor and revise production plans for the site.
* Production of a timely production plan for both weekly and daily planning.
* Communicate availability issues to the wider business as required.
* Establish close working relationships internal stakeholders to ensure stock flows through the business efficiently – this includes the Logistics, Customer Service. Marketing and Commercial teams.
* Maximise customer service level via effective liaison with the Production and Sales Order Processing team.
* Work with the Planning Manager in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
* Maintain planning tools, systems and software.
* Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to production planning process and performance.
* Maintain high customer service level whilst minimising obsolescence.
Requirements
* Experience in FMCG supply and production planning experience with ERP systems e.g. IFS/NAV/SAP would be desirable
* Strong Analytical skills/numerate
* Commercially aware
* Able to direct work and cultivate innovation – key to the role is the ability to communicate with and co-ordinate internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to work with large amounts of complex data and analyse trends
* Excellent communication and facilitation skills – ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms, influence and engage across cross-functional groups
* Good IT skills with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel
* Maths or Business qualifications an advantage
