Senior Program Manager, Project Management Office, ACES
The JP ACES PMO team consists of six pillars: 1) Project Management Office, 2) Mid and Long term strategy Management Office, 3) Cost Out PMO Office, 4) Change Management Office, 5) World Wide Score Card (WWSC) Office, and 6) Peak Office. The entire PMO team is led by a Senior Manager PMO, who works with global stakeholders and leaders to align strategies and roadmaps for critical programs that have cross-organizational, cross-regional, or significant business impact, including areas where strategies are yet to be defined.
This position is a senior Program Manager who focuses on the overall business picture while receiving support from upper management, develops team strategies and initiatives, and manages practical, cross-functional, and technical projects and programs. As the person responsible for WWSC and Change Management-related projects and programs, they will work independently while seeking guidance from senior managers as needed to successfully execute challenging projects aligned with team objectives.
Key job responsibilities
1. For Change Management related projects: Provide guidance to project owners and program teams, identify stakeholder teams affected by projects, facilitate meetings between project owners and stakeholders, track updates through the Asana project management platform, validate inputs, and ensure all necessary tasks are completed before project finalization. Work with stakeholder teams involved in change management, responsible for processing change requests promptly while highlighting potential risks. This role also includes collaborating with Global Teams to improve global coordination and leading efforts to integrate Change Management functions across multiple functional organizations in Japan.
2. For WWSC related projects: Lead the management of WWSC improvement initiatives and projects in Japan through project management platforms like Asana, tracking and prioritizing specific improvement measures, challenges, and potential risks proposed under the ownership of metric owners and operation teams. Utilize data analysis and maintain regular communication with senior managers and stakeholders to manage goal setting and metrics achievement. Track initiatives of each metrics owner, identify best practices, standardize metrics improvement approaches and mechanisms, and deploy improvement mechanisms across WWSC metrics to minimize initiative-level variations and support consistent, stable performance output. Also ensure initiative visibility to leadership and regularly review and adjust strategic direction with senior manager support.
A day in the life
This role promotes the establishment of standardized Project Management Office (PMO) workflows by collaborating with the Global PMO Team under the support of senior managers, collecting best practices, and deploying them to JP. The role provides standardized templates and tools to stakeholders as a centralized one-stop solution for project management, promoting visibility of project status, progress, and business value. It tracks updates, validates inputs, and ensures all necessary tasks are completed before project completion.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 5+ years of program or project management experience
* Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
* Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
* Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
