Deputy Endoscopy Sister/Charge Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Endoscopy Unit for a Deputy Ward Sister/Charge Nurse position. The successful candidate will work alongside the Ward Sisters to support the Nursing team to provide the highest quality care for our patients.
Main duties of the job
* Provide strong clinical leadership skills and inspire the nursing team towards a common goal.
* Be involved in rostering and allocation/approval of bank & agency staff.
* Co-ordinate the day-to-day running of the ward to deliver safe and effective care.
* Deputise for the Sister/Charge Nurse in their absence.
* Deal with complaints in a calm and efficient manner.
* Be a role model in delivering safe and effective patient care.
* Assess, plan and implement care, provide specialist advice and maintain accurate records.
* Provide leadership, support and guidance to staff in monitoring the planning delivery and evaluation of individualised care.
Person specification
Experience
* Proven experience of managing an Endoscopy Unit.
* Experience of teaching/assessing/supervising others in a clinical setting.
* Experience of clinical supervision.
* Experience of supporting recruitment campaigns and undertaking interviews.
Skills
* Ability to organise and plan own time and that of junior staff and learners.
* Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist care delivered to patients/clients.
* Good communication skills and ability to deal with sensitive information.
Qualifications/ Education /Professional/ Statutory Registration
* BSC/1st degree (health related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience.
* Post registration qualification in or can demonstrate relevant experience and competence.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development in relevant area of specialty.
* RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
* Evidence of current experience as a Senior Endoscopy Staff Nurse.
