This role is part of the Strategy and Transformation team, coordinating the delivery of public health improvement activities in line with our recently approved population health and wellbeing strategy. As a Population Health Apprentice, you will work in partnership to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities. You will also support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of public health initiatives, working in specified areas of public health and across portfolio areas in line with the learning on the degree programme and population need.

This is a 3-year apprenticeship training programme to become a Public Health Practitioner, gaining a BSc in Public Health (Hons) and eligibility to apply to and join the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR). You will be supported in university for a proportion of the week, and the rest of your time will be spent on a variety of programme areas undertaking different public health tasks and projects.
• A 36-month development programme plus ~3 months to complete the end point assessment. A minimum of 20% off-the-job training is a prerequisite for apprenticeship eligibility (e.g., attending lectures, online learning, shadowing, learning support). Apprentices will have exposure to work experiences that will meet the anticipated Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours as detailed within the Public Health Practitioner - integrated degree / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
