Thanks to funding from the National Church for an exciting new post, we will be able to revitalise the Church in Paulsgrove and are committed to growing St Michael's, re-energising traditional expressions of church so that it grows further, grows deeper, and engages yet further with our community. Read more about this exciting project here.
With the help of our new Associate Priest we will
* encourage people to belong before they believe by finding ways of serving our community building on the models of already successful initiatives.
* establish fresh expressions of church, designed to reach unchurched families and children, and continue to work with local primary schools and families.
* renew the fabric and infrastructure of the church so that our building is a resource we can use confidently to proclaim the Gospel and offer welcome and hospitality.
This is a full-time, stipendiary post with housing provided for ordained clergy.
Please do read more about who we are, what this is all about, and why the new post of Associate Priest is absolutely central to helping make things happen in the profile attached.
If you have any questions, please do contact Acting Archdeacon Bob White.
Closing date for applications: 12pm, January 13th, 2025.
The interviews for this post will be held week commencing 27th January 2025.
The Diocese of Portsmouth is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce that represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of United Kingdom Minority Ethnic/Global Majority Heritage, women, and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation. The appointment will of course be based on merit alone. Enhanced DBS will be required.
