Summary About the Position: This position is located at Liberty Club, RAF Lakenheath. It requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 0-40 per week with no minimum guarantee. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform a full range of simple cooking tasks by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables.
2. Prepare convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets, and chicken nuggets.
3. Some cooks at this level prepare and bake pizza.
4. Prepare food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, flouring, or breading.
5. Weigh, measure, and assemble ingredients for regular menu items.
6. Set up and replenish salad bar.
7. Portion foods for distribution and meal service and cover, date, and store leftovers according to established procedures.
8. Wash and clean kitchen equipment.
9. May perform other related duties.

Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in and knowledge of methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club, or similar food activity. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment, characteristics of various foods, and the ability to season food and decide when foods are done is required.
Education: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
