About the Role: In this role, you’ll be supporting children across a range of ages and abilities with special educational needs such as autism, ADHD, sensory processing challenges, or speech and language difficulties. Working closely with classroom teachers, you will deliver targeted academic and emotional support to help pupils overcome barriers and engage positively with learning. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to pupils’ EHCP targets. Foster a safe, structured, and stimulating environment to support SEN learners’ development. Implement behaviour support strategies to promote positive conduct and self-regulation. Help plan and adapt resources to suit individual learning styles and needs. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure pupil progress. Track and report on student achievements and areas requiring further support. Ensure all safeguarding and welfare policies are adhered to diligently. Job Requirements: Prior experience supporting pupils with SEN is essential, whether in education, care, or community settings. Good knowledge of SEN strategies and how to implement them effectively in the classroom. A calm, patient, and understanding approach to behaviour management. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a proactive attitude. A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or similar SEN training is highly desirable. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
