Addysg Oedolion Cymru | Adult Learning Wales has a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled, qualified Numeracy Tutor to deliver to learners in the Newport area. The role involves planning, developing, delivering, evaluating, and assessing courses and learning programmes in accordance with learner needs and Addysg Oedolion Cymru | Adult Learning Wales’s Quality Procedures, in support of delivering high-quality learning.
The Tutor role is diverse and hands-on, where you will work independently and also with the regional team.
You will have responsibility for (but not limited to):
1. Planning and preparing courses – preparing lesson plans and schemes of work, selecting learning materials, and a range of learning methods to meet the learner’s needs.
2. Supporting learners – assessing learners’ previous learning experiences and achievements, providing appropriate advice and guidance, and ensuring learners are aware of their progression routes.
3. General – undertaking administrative tasks in line with regulations for the funding of Addysg Oedolion Cymru | Adult Learning Wales, and attending relevant tutor meetings, quality briefings, and relevant accreditation/moderation meetings.

Job Requirements
The postholder will need to hold a Level 3 Essential Skills Numeracy Practitioner qualification. The ability to teach numeracy contextually would be an advantage.
