To support our growing company we are on the search for a CNI NMC Engineer.
We are looking for a skilled NMC Engineer to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in managing our strategic network and ensuring seamless service handovers. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, resolving issues, and maintaining strong communication with customers and internal/external stakeholders. Key accountabilities and Decision Ownership
* Working to meet 99.99% network availability and management of customer incidents and faults within agreed SLAs.
* Working to customer SLAs and managing their expectations
o Providing customer with a single point of contact
o Managing 1st level escalations.
* Undertake or support rapid restoration of CNI network fault resolution within SLA
o Prior to critical service failure where possible
o Agreeing deadlines with the customer for remote site fault fixes
o Ensuring that 3rd Party team remain within agreed fault management guidelines
o Ensure zero service penalties are incurred
* Take an overall pro-active responsibility for the technical support / issues arising within the CNI environment at Data Centres, working with associated Service Desks to ensure the correct action for an incident is taken and posted to the correct resolving agency
o To include all necessary diagnostics / impact assessments
* To investigate network problems identified using pro-active management tools
o Where possible before critical services are impacted
* Ensure that incidents are escalated according to the Operational Procedures document, as required
* Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customer stakeholders
Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience
* Capable of working to 2nd line support level on PDH, SDH & Radio Communications environment
* Skills & Knowledge on both PDH/SDH networks delivered across fibre, copper and radio bearers
* Understanding of network management and use of Network Management Platform tools
* Proven track record of successfully prioritising simultaneous activities within SLA
* Proven track record in complex delivery of multiple teams and interfaces
* Self-motivating individual with the ability to develop strong customer relationships as well as functioning in a team environment
* Must be PC literate and competent with Word/Excel/Visio/MS Project
* Excellent communication skills
* Industry Standard SDH, PDH, Telephony or IP accreditation qualifications
* Recognised technical courses on related technical products and services
* CCNA minimum
* Approved best practice qualifications such as ITIL, ISO
* Knowledge of high voltage substation environment 33kv-400kv or National Grid Services / Network (this last one would be advantageous, but appreciated may not be readily available)
