The position of Music Teacher offers an exciting opportunity for a talented individual. The successful applicant, whether an NQT or experienced teacher, should bring enthusiasm and passion to inspire students across Year 7 to Upper Sixth.
The Music Department is currently staffed by a full-time Director of Music, a part-time teacher of Music and a part-time teacher of Music Technology. There are also 11 peripatetic members of staff who work part-time to teach instrumental and singing lessons. The department is well-equipped with a purpose-built, galleried Recital Room with a baby grand piano, a Music Technology suite with 13 iMacs, a dedicated Recording Studio running Logic Pro X and a Practical/Performance Room with a class set of keyboards, djembes and samba drums. The department also contains a selection of practice rooms, including a dedicated Drum Room. Many concert performances take place in the School’s newly refurbished John Crook Theatre.

Following the interview, the successful applicant will be invited to accept the position by telephone, but only once a contract has been agreed and signed will unsuccessful applicants be informed. Conditions of Employment:
The post-holder must uphold the School’s policy in respect of all matters related to Safeguarding and Child Protection. The above responsibilities are subject to the general duties and responsibilities in the written statement of conditions of employment (The Contract of Employment). The post-holder is required to support and encourage the School’s ethos and its objectives, policies and procedures as agreed by the Headmaster and Governing Body. The post-holder would also be expected to carry out any other duties that are reasonably assigned by the Headmaster.
