Charles Taylor Adjusting is one of the leading international loss adjusting businesses. We focus on commercial losses and claims in the aviation, energy, marine, property, casualty and special risk markets, many of which are large and complex in nature. These include onshore and offshore energy claims, maritime casualties, aircraft losses, large infrastructure claims and financial lines losses.
We are creating a specialist environmental team of adjusters and consultants. This opportunity will allow you to join us at the start of this exciting journey.
The Role
The role will be performed by an experienced Environmental Adjuster who is a technical expert in their field. You will be required to manage technical environmental claims, mainly in the UK, but also in Europe and other territories as client demands dictate. You will also work closely with the management team in building out the strategic direction of Charles Taylor Environmental.
Key Responsibilities
1. To perform an environmental loss adjusting function for claims and develop existing skills to assist with other areas of loss adjusting as required. This will involve:
1. Receiving and acknowledging new claims - to determine if urgent response and support is required.
2. Undertaking site visits and meeting with Insured Parties, their representatives and other interested parties.
3. Working closely with our in-house Environmental Consultant and in addition instructing and controlling surveyors, forensic scientists and other Experts as necessary.
4. Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communications. Calculating and agreeing settlement of claims and preparing final reports.
5. Providing support and guidance to colleagues in respect of policy application and methods of claim consideration.
1. To assist in the development of the Team and other staff in your field of expertise.
2. To assist in and develop the effective marketing of Charles Taylor Environmental by developing working relationships with existing Clients. Helping to identify and plan approaches to new Clients including assisting in the preparation and delivery of presentations.

2. You will be able to undertake detailed policy review and ensure its correct application in any given circumstance, supporting colleagues and clients.
3. A desire to progress within the business and support the growth of this new team by working closely with colleagues, existing and potential clients.
Key Performance Measures
Degree or other relevant professional qualification. ACILA qualification is preferred, or progress towards this. Professional development via CILA will be supported.

Your accountabilities may include such other duties and tasks as allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.
Person Specification
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience
1. The Senior Environmental Adjuster will be well versed in all Microsoft Office applications.
2. Experience of team management would be beneficial as we seek to grow our Environmental Adjusting team.
