We are searching for an experienced Senior Site Engineer to work on various construction sites throughout Somerset and parts of Devon. This role offers someone the opportunity to work on a permanent basis with a credible contractor, and you will also have the opportunity to explore career development should career progression be of interest.
This position is with a well-respected, established, and highly profitable civils contractor who delivers a variety of infrastructure schemes across various sectors. They are searching for the newest member of their growing team. You can expect to be working on schemes valued from 1 million to 20 million.
The Senior Engineer's responsibilities may include but are not limited to managing different parts of construction projects, completing quality assurance, observing health and safety standards, compiling reports for different stakeholders, and supporting junior engineers. The successful Engineer should demonstrate strong analytical and logical thinking skills, display a superb work ethic, and thrive under pressure.
* Undertaking surveys.
* Setting out of sites.
* Providing technical advice and suggestions for improvement on particular projects.
* Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure they are followed correctly.
* Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment as required.
* Authorizing technical drawings and engineering plans.
* Gathering data, compiling reports, and delivering presentations to relevant stakeholders.
* Managing and overseeing the construction of roads and sewers.
* Liaising with highways and service providers to ensure completed works are passed off as soon as work is completed.
* Reporting any changes in drawings to QS ensuring we have priced work correctly.
* Working as part of the construction management team to meet deadline dates on all aspects of works.
Key Requirements
* Relevant qualifications in engineering, construction, or similar.
* Experience in similar roles.
* Great written and verbal communication skills.
* Sound knowledge of engineering, construction, and design.
* Great leadership and organizational skills.
* Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to projects.
* Have the right to live and work in the UK.
