What you will be doing
As our Junior Operations Manager, you'll be the go-to person for keeping our large ecommerce operations run like clockwork. From managing people & stock, to streamlining processes & monitoring daily performance, you'll have your hands in all aspects of operations. Here's a sneak peek of the responsibilities of the Junior Operations Manager:
1. Health & Safety: Champion safety on-site, address incidents, and work with our maintenance team to keep our workplace hazard-free.
2. Operations: Plan daily and weekly schedules, manage resources (internal and agency), and support in day production planning to deliver efficient performance. Work with suppliers to effectively plan & manage inbound and outbound capacity.
3. Leadership: Mentor & develop team members, support their growth, and keep team morale high. Lead your team to achieve defined targets for quality, operational efficiency, and effectiveness. Own operational goal workstreams to deliver the overall business plan.
4. Process Improvement: Ensure operational excellence, establishing, and delivering ambitious operational targets. Use data and insight to target cost reduction and increase productivity. Establish workflow processes that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product quality or integrity.
5. Communication: Communicate problems or obstacles to senior leadership within the organisation to prevent escalation. Communicate effectively across the operations team to ensure team members are engaged and informed.
6. Quality & Compliance: Uphold our high standards, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction. Identify and implement improvements to enhance customer experience.
7. Technology: Help your team adopt new tools and tech to work smarter, not harder. Identify areas where existing processes are inefficient/ could be improved using technology; provide suggestions for improvements. Understand the detailed processes and supporting tech to effectively utilise the in-house suite of fulfilment technology.
8. Stock Management: Monitor inventory, fix discrepancies, and support smooth stock operations. Manage the week-to-week stock control and implement ways of working improvements to increase accuracy, process adherence, and minimise waste.
Requirements
* 4+ years' experience in operations management
* Evidence of excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills
* Proven track record of successfully delivering operational plans under pressure
* Exceptional knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
* Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group
* Nice to have: Knowledge of fresh produce, flowers or other similarly short shelf-life perishable products
* Nice to have: Knowledge of digital, e-commerce business and working manual processes
