Employer Description
We are technical experts in the design and manufacture of plastic injection mouldings. Working in partnership with you, we support your new product developments and existing moulding requirements from design to delivery. We manufacture a wide range of technical products, in a variety of engineering polymers, and supply markets such as healthcare, automotive, aerospace, electronics, and consumer goods.
Merit Plastic Mouldings are currently looking for an apprentice Production Technician to join and learn within their team.
Key Tasks:
1. Work strictly in accordance with the tool setting Work Instruction, number WI.25.
2. Troubleshoot as and when required, to ensure correct mouldings are produced using optimum conditions.
Other Tasks:
1. Adhere to relevant procedures as laid down in the company quality manual.
2. Maintain good housekeeping in whichever duty you are performing.
3. Actively participate in training and development programmes as required by your manager.
4. Regularly communicate with your manager to ensure the smooth running of the department.
5. Work in compliance with all statutory rules and regulations.
6. Use all equipment, plant, machinery, and services with respect and immediately report any faults or repairs needed to the relevant person for action.
7. Maintain awareness of developments within areas of operation of other departments within the Company.
8. Maintain active interdepartmental co-ordination, communication, and co-operation.
9. Undertake other tasks as required by the Company or your manager.
Entry Requirements
GCSE Grades 4 or above in Maths and English - Desirable
Skills Required

Training to be Provided
The learner will be studying the Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification. Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
Things to Consider
Being a good communicator, being open, honest, and transparent are all advantageous attributes of the ideal candidate. Being willing and open to learning with a keen interest in engineering is also essential.
