You’ll work closely with people managers to address business issues, spot trends, and share insights to ensure best practices are followed. We value continuous improvement and encourage your input on processes to enhance stakeholder support. You’ll drive interventions, identify emerging issues, and collaborate with key functions like legal and trade unions to address people-related concerns. This role will be based out of Gloucester Business Park, with 2 -3 days working in the office. This position may be permanent or a 2-year fixed term contract opportunity, with the potential to go permanent. Preferences will be capture during the recruitment process for consideration. What you will be doing The key responsibilities for this role include: • Providing proactive, professional HR advice and guidance • Building effective working relationships with your stakeholders across the business, including Trade Union representatives, you will provide timely advice and guidance on a wide range of HR practices • Both verbally and in written format, assisting managers across the business, aiding them in their understanding and implementation of our policies in relation to your employment case portfolio • Assisting managers in informal and formal case meetings, including providing information and HR advice from initiation to resolution and escalating cases where appropriate • Collaborating with managers and collating the required documentation to formulate hearing packs, or signposting managers to the correct templates and policies • Attending formal case meetings, you will be responsible for taking appropriate notes and preparing relevant outcome documentation (case hearings may take place within a reasonable location) • Maintaining up to date records and suggesting improvements, you will be proactive in your approach, presenting options for the manager to enact, providing feedback where applicable • Utilising technology to track progress as well as record and maintain accurate case records which are accessible to those involved in the case • Where there are points and elements of cases which increase risk to the individual and business, you will discuss appropriate action with the HR Business Partner Team and/or Employee Relations team providing early insight and offering options • Briefing the HR team on the status of cases and approach being taken • Supporting the wider community, you will provide valuable feedback and insight from your case work to enrich the data used in workshops, training, coaching and guidance to support development and growth • Promoting and championing diversity and inclusion as fundamental elements of our culture. • Work with HR teams to drive HR initiatives, supporting central offices and the wider business deliver People Plans. Who you are We’re looking for a CIPD Level 3 (or above) qualified HR professional, or someone working towards it, with demonstrable generalist HR experience. Previous experience in HR or employee relations and a strong understanding of employment law is essential. You should be able to interpret data, use dashboards to spot trends, and maintain accurate HR systems. Experience engaging with a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders and trade union reps, is important. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational abilities are key.
