Overview
For this role, you can be based anywhere in the UK.
Responsible for acting as an RO/Guard on the Britannic explorer, a Belmond Train. You will be responsible for the safety and timely operation of the service, ensuring the Train is clean and ready for service.
You will also be responsible for the safe preparation of rail freight services and the operation of a variety of traction at off-network marshalling yards.
Liaising with GB Railfreight Train Managers (Drivers), signallers, and customers, you will ensure client requirements are met and trains are prepared safely, efficiently, and on time.
Travelling to work sites within the nominated region, you will keep abreast of rule updates and safe systems of work for each location. Representing the company, you will demonstrate excellent customer service to understand the requirements of the customer while working safely and efficiently, with a willingness to challenge/report any safety concerns.

Responsibilities
* Safe delivery of GB Railfreight services.
* Thorough preparation of trains entering the rail network.
* Detailed examinations of locomotives, wagons, and containers to confirm they are fit for purpose.
* Movement of trains as required on private infrastructure.
* Carry out coupling/uncoupling of rail vehicles to/from the locomotives and/or each other as required.
* Travel within the nominated region and other locations as required.
* Assisting and greeting passengers, answering questions, making announcements, and ensuring their safety.
Qualifications
* Full Rail Operator Competence is essential.
* Full UK Manual driver's licence.
* Lone working experience.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proven flexible approach to work.
* Proven customer service excellence.
* Clean safety record.
* Proven ability to work alone and take initiative.
* Previous Guard experience/competence is desirable.
