Job summary To be part of a team of research nurses, trial practitioners and administrative staff providing a comprehensive research study support for cardiology studies being undertaken in Basildon Hospital. The role will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants into various research studies, the collection and documentation of accurate data and be expected to put in place clear recruitment and retention research strategies. Main duties of the job As a research nurse, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways of patients and carers participating in research studies and ensuring good communication with other members of the R&D Department and Research Delivery Network (RDN). You will have responsibility for the delivery of direct and indirect care within your own caseload, working collaboratively with members of multi-disciplinary research teams and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for Research (GCP). The role involves using an in-depth knowledge of clinical trial protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with the local, national and international research regulations to ensure effective running of cardiology research studies and the maintenance and compliance to research governance standards.
