The opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Support Lead in Southampton supporting the Leonardo Electronics ISP Line of Business. The Facilities Support Lead will lead and manage the Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) function to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of all Facilities Management activities at the Southampton site. This includes the coordination of external Facilities Management partners and collaboration with central Leonardo Group Services.
What you’ll do as a Facilities Support Lead:
The Facilities Support Manager is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Southampton buildings and infrastructure. Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring that the local IFM team (ISS) undertake maintenance and statutory requirements in accordance with the Leonardo / ISS IFM contract and annexes. Annexes to the contract detail the scope of requirements of work to be undertaken across the infrastructure of the site.
* Work to be carried out in accordance with SFG20 guidelines wherever appropriate.
* Working with and as part of the Utility Working Group to ensure Gas, Electric and Water services are maintained and ensure consumption of utilities is reported, meets forecasts and targets.
* Engages with all appropriate parties to reduce consumption and assist with the organisational goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions.
* Oversee the Facilities Management Contractor (ISS) to ensure completion of statutory inspections and corrective reactive works.
* Managing workplace moves and change management of the physical environment.
* Ensure that the contractors used to support the maintenance and upkeep of the estate are suitable for the task, have the required technical expertise/qualification, hold role appropriate Health and Safety certifications and that they abide by all our guidelines and security requirements.
* Work in line with local and national stakeholders to maintain, develop and improve functional FM objectives as necessary to support Leonardo UK company strategy and local initiatives.
* Lead local IFM continuous improvement activities and develop road maps for the improvement of Site facilities in collaboration with Business and Functional stakeholders.
* Provide appropriate support to site transformation projects including the Detector Centre of Excellence programme (as a member of the extended project team).
* Prepare, write and submit Capital Applications for the Southampton site and ISP.
* Approval & sign off AWRs for the site to a limit of £20k.
* Oversee the catering and hospitality function provided by the FMC to ensure that catering standards meet expectations and escalate issues if required.
* Ensure that the property is maintained in line with the contractual lease requirements.
* Work with FMC Project Management and direct Leonardo appointed contractor project managers to ensure the effective coordination & management of contractors during refurbishments, onsite work and moves to minimise disruption to the site, meets the required standard and is completed to budget.
* Manage major emergencies and BCP incidents as part of the Bronze or Silver team for the management of incidents.
* Manage the Site Facilities Budgets and Forecasts for FM Variable (Inc semi-Comp) and Capital to ensure the achievement of the business objectives, deliver cost effectiveness and report on spend performance against the allocated budget.
What we need from you:
* Educated to degree / HNC / equivalent NVQ or able to demonstrate relevant work experience aligned to Site / Estate / Infrastructure Facilities Management.
* Conversant / understand basic building structure and construction techniques.
* Understand basic construction infrastructure and engineering plant & equipment.
* Aware of CDM regulations and their implications for FM projects and maintenance.
* Holding an IOSH Managing Safely certificate is highly desirable, with a sound understanding and interpretation of writing and assessing Risk Assessments & Methods of work.
* Understand the applicable HSE procedures covering the Site Facilities activities e.g., permits to work, approved persons.
