Job Title: English Teacher (SEND) Job Location: The Grange School, Thatcham (RG2) Salary: Between £26,250 and £37,800 depending on experience, based on working 40 hours per week, 39.2 weeks of the year. We’re looking for a passionate and innovative English Teacher to join our vibrant teaching team, someone who thrives on thinking outside the box and believes in transforming traditional teaching into an engaging and fun learning experience. You’ll be working with neurodiverse children and young people who may have additional needs relating to communication and interaction, cognition and learning, sensory and/or physical needs. We’re committed to providing an inclusive, supportive, and creative learning environment where you can reshape conventional teaching methods. You’ll focus on tailoring education to meet the unique needs, interests, and aspirations of each pupil. With the freedom to design interactive, dynamic lessons, you’ll be able to turn English lessons into opportunities for sparking curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for literature. From creative writing exercises to real-world applications of language, you’ll make learning English a meaningful and enjoyable experience, helping pupils develop both essential language skills and broader life skills. With small class sizes, typically five pupils, you’ll have the opportunity to build strong, meaningful relationships with your pupils, ensuring that each child receives the individualised support they need to flourish. If you’re eager to make a real impact and bring your innovative approach to a rewarding teaching role, we’d love to hear from you To be a successful English Teacher, you’ll need: An ability to teach English to Level 2 (GCSE/Functional Skills). Patience, compassion and resilience in how you interact with our pupils and team members. Strong verbal and written communication skills are important in this role as you’ll be speaking to a lot of different people at different times. A driving licence and a willingness to take pupils on trips within the school vehicles. A genuine interest in a career within this sector.
