Join us as a Principal Geospatial Analyst within our Personal Lines Pricing & Underwriting Chapter, to enable us to extract the most value from our Geographic data sources in our assessment of Risk Pricing.

What you'll be doing
Working in an agile way means you'll take charge early on, soak up new experiences and most importantly your ideas will shape what we do - making a positive impact on our customers' lives. We'll utilise your skills where they are most needed whilst also giving you the opportunity to build and grow the breadth of your expertise. You'll join the Technical Risk Innovation Squad within our Home Tribe.
* Work with other areas of pricing and underwriting and the wider business to set both risk prices across Direct Line Group and manage and maintain the geographic risk models, data and associated intelligence.
* Work with the Home Personal Lines leadership and External Data providers to harness the most value from external sources.
* Support prioritised projects within pricing and underwriting as required, focusing on projects involving use of GIS technology and the maintenance of geospatial rating tools.
* Ensure all internal and externally held geographic data used internally within Personal Lines is well documented and seek external, market leading data providers.
* Strive continuously to improve the statistical validity and efficiency of all modelling, projection processes and techniques.
* Deliver projects into the wider pricing and underwriting team.
What you'll need
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in mathematics or a related degree.
* Experience of ArcGIS applications necessary.
* Working knowledge of SAS, RADAR, R, Python and/or Emblem is preferable but not essential.
* An effective communicator at all levels. Be able to demonstrate strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, including a proven ability to interact with Executive and Senior Management.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a general insurance analytical role or equivalent experience in another industry.
