Post: Maintenance Officer Ref: MO37 Hours – 37 Hours per week Salary: £31,726.76 p.a. The Council is looking for a professional, enthusiastic, and organised maintenance officer to join our in-house team. Reporting to the Deputy Maintenance Manager, you will undertake responsive and planned maintenance tasks within the Borough’s facilities. You will liaise with colleagues and external contractors across a variety of sites and be able to work on your own initiative and remain calm under pressure. Good communication, numerical skills and working knowledge of the health and safety legislation is essential. Experience of dealing directly with the public in a fast-paced environment you will be able to exercise initiative, take personal responsibility and resolve issues independently and as part of a team. Applicants should have strong interpersonal and good written communication skills. The following experience and skills are also essential for this role: Understanding of practical health and safety regulations Experience of working on planned and reactive maintenance tasks Experience working with / coordinating the work of contractors Excellent communication skills A recognised Professional Mechanical / Electrical or Engineering qualification is desirable, and you should also have the ability to work successfully as part of a small team. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post. This role requires a disclosure and barring service check.
