Operational Safeguarding Lead and Family Liaison Officer
37 hours per week, term time only plus 3 weeks.
Salary Scale APT&C SO1 Point 23 to Point 28 £33,366 to £37,938 (Actual £30,458 - £34,632)
We require an Operational Safeguarding Lead and Family Liaison Officer to join a large, dynamic Pastoral Team in our very successful school. Your two priorities will be lead and manage the day to day working of our Safeguarding Team in School and to lead on our Looked After and Previously Looked After children, ensuring they have appropriate provision and engaging with external agencies as appropriate.
The successful candidate will be the first port of call for safeguarding referrals and will liaise with Year Teams to co-ordinate a procedure addresses any safeguarding and child protection referrals within their year group. Together, you will prioritise the needs of those affected by liaising with external agencies as well as facilitating termly staff training and having a proactive attitude towards educating our students on how to keep safe.
As with national protocol, there is a Designated Safeguarding Lead who is a member of SLT but the Operational Safeguarding Lead will be expected to shape the future of safeguarding in our school. Additionally, all Heads of Year are trained to DSL level and have responsibility for leading safeguarding within their year group.
You will build relationships with our Looked After and Previously Looked After students and their families, liaise with Heads of Faculty regarding progress in lessons, ensure that Personal Education Plans are up to date and relevant and spend their Pupil Premium Plus money effectively.
