We are looking for an experienced Group HR Manager for a marketing leading construction company based in the North East of the UK.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Group HR Manager to join a growing construction company. This autonomous role will work across the entire group structure allowing for scalability of this role and the HR function as a whole. The aim of this role above all else is to lead the company culture, provide fantastic service and support to encourage the business to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Continuously review and improve policies, procedures, and practices.
2. Management of HR function and team.
3. Assist the HR Director in structuring the HR Department to meet business objectives.
4. Advising the senior leadership team and heads of department on company policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice.
5. Final review of employment contracts for new and existing staff.
6. Maintain and optimise HR system utilisation.
7. Oversee all employee relations matters providing proactive and reactive support in any given situation.
8. Support the HR Director on recruitment and selection.
9. Lead on talent development including internal training and performance management.
10. Support first line managers on attendance management via effective reporting and monitoring tools. Develop and implement strategies which aim to keep business disruption to a minimum.
11. Work collaboratively with HSEQ manager to ensure high standards of Health and Safety.
12. Lead on reward and recognition strategy and implementation across the group in order to foster a workforce culture of psychological safety and motivation.
13. Support delivery of strategic objectives set by HR Director.
14. Support in the delivery and implementation of any HR projects.
Essential Professional Qualities
1. Experience in a similar role with a demonstrable track record of positively impacting company culture.
2. Experience of managing a small HR function is essential.
3. CIPD level 5 qualified desirable.
4. Experience within the construction industry is desirable.
