To ensure the safe and efficient operation of A1 Services, Manchester, M27 8BQ on a day-to-day basis in conjunction with the Operations Manager and their team.
Health and Safety
* To ensure the operations under your control comply with the relevant statutory legislation, Safety Policy, and the company Safety, Health and Environment Management System.
* To assist the Operations Manager in the compliance of procedures and systems under the Company Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
* To lead by example in the observance of safety rules and use of protective equipment and safety devices.
* To audit and complete sections as appropriate of the daily inspection (checklist format).
* To assist the Operations Manager in the control of contractors working on site, including inspections of their plant and equipment and their adherence to prepared method statements and safe working practices.
* To ensure that the weekly inspections are carried out.
Customer and Quality Assurance
* To ensure that all materials supplied to customers comply with the relevant specification and that a high quality of service is given to the customer by applying the Quality Assurance systems.
* To ensure all materials delivered are quality controlled and segregated correctly.
* To deal courteously with all visitors to site, including customers.
* To work in close liaison with customers, weighbridge, and sales staff to establish the most reliable and efficient service.
* To promote vigorously the benefits achieved from buying from A1 / Heidelberg Aggregates by providing a quality service and a quality product.
General Management
* To assist in purchasing spares, materials, and services as required for effective running of the operation at the most cost-effective price possible.
* To assist the Operations Manager in the completion of Period End Profit Estimations by compiling stock returns, production & breakdown analysis, and written summary, with the provision of above information in electronic form as appropriate.
* To compile accurate maintenance records and ensure that servicing and repairs are carried out as programmed by the Operations Manager.
* To maintain good working relationships and communication between management and employees, notifying the Operations Manager if problems are developing.
* To liaise and discuss with the Operations Manager any training requirements for the staff under your control, ensuring that all new employees have received the induction training and appropriate specialised training where relevant.
* To assist the Operations Manager in the prevention of fraud.
* To maintain good relationships with neighbours and ensure that complaints are brought to the attention of the Operations Manager.
* To ensure that all land, roads, and buildings within the site boundaries are kept in a good state of repair and that general housekeeping conveys a tidy, presentable company image.
