Role: Learning Support Assistant
Axcis have partnered up with an Alternative Provision Academy providing programmes of education to pupils identified as being at risk of exclusion, or who have already been permanently excluded from mainstream education. They have children in all key stages up to KS4 who have varied and complex needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide support and assistance to individuals with special educational needs in order to promote academic and social development.
2. Use your skillset to communicate with learners and support them in their studies to foster engagement in the classroom.
3. Collaborate with specialist teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
4. Provide assistance with emotional wellbeing and behavioural needs.
What you will need to succeed in this role:
1. A Level 3 Qualification in a relevant area.
2. Previous experience of working with children or young adults in an Education or similar setting.
3. An Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or a willingness to process a new one.
4. Experience supporting pupils with a range of learning needs (SEN).
5. Patience, empathy, and compassion, with a drive to support pupils' emotional and academic progress.
