We are looking for a qualified and experienced BREEAM Assessor with expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Life Cycle Costing (LCC) to join an Engineering Consultancy in Birmingham. This role is ideal for a driven individual who is passionate about sustainability in the built environment and wants to contribute to high-profile projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead BREEAM assessments for a range of projects across multiple sectors, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and client-specific sustainability requirements. Conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Life Cycle Costing (LCC) for projects, contributing to the development of low-carbon, sustainable design solutions. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to integrate sustainability principles from the early stages of design through to construction. Prepare and submit BREEAM reports, managing the process from pre-assessment through to final certification. Keep up to date with the latest developments in sustainability regulations, standards, and certifications. Provide expert advice to project teams and clients on sustainability strategies, environmental impacts, and cost-effective green solutions. Support the development of sustainability policies, processes, and tools within the consultancy. Ensure projects meet internal and external deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. Key Requirements: Accredited BREEAM Assessor (New Construction, Refurbishment, or other relevant schemes). Demonstrable experience in carrying out Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Life Cycle Costing (LCC). Strong understanding of sustainability in the construction industry, including knowledge of UK regulations and best practices. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to clients and stakeholders. Proficiency in relevant software such as One Click LCA or similar tools for environmental and cost assessments. Degree in sustainability, engineering, architecture, or related field (preferred but not essential). Desirable: Experience with additional sustainability certifications (e.g., WELL, LEED, Passivhaus). Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., CIBSE, IEMA).
