Department Overview:
The Financial Sponsors Group (‘FSG’) is a global team covering ING’s largest financial sponsor (private capital) relationships by income and exposure. Our primary responsibility is to manage these relationships, coordinating across products and geographies to explore and maximise cross-buy opportunities. This involves regular interaction with Leveraged Finance, Corporate Finance, Fund Finance, Financial Markets, Transaction Services, and other Sector teams. Added to this, FSG has a secondary portfolio management function with responsibility for allocation and performance of capital, as well as tracking share of wallet and leading reciprocity discussions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
Client coverage:
* Undertake banker role for FSG clients with ability to have strategy discussions with senior stakeholders.
* Drive selected client relationships with stakeholders on client side on a portfolio of clients to be allocated.
* Liaise laterally and vertically with stakeholders, peers, and juniors to drive the client dialogue, owning the relationship with the client.
* Identify and drive cross-buy opportunities.
* Support commercial and credit committee applications.
* Organize and set up internal deal teams to drive and coordinate origination.
Portfolio and data management:
* Develop account plans and performance reviews in order to allocate scarce resources in the right relationships and optimize portfolio management with the objective to deliver on KPIs.
* Support KYC onboarding and remediation efforts as part of overall client relationship.
Internal Management:
* In close cooperation with Acquisition Finance and Corporate Finance, help to set the strategy for, and drive the execution of, ING’s business with your clients.
* Mentor junior team members.
Candidate Profile:
Experience/Knowledge:
* Knowledge of relevant financial sponsor product suite with appetite to develop in particular fields.
* Preferably network of existing relationships within financial sponsor universe.
* Minimum 8 years experience primarily in investment or corporate banking, as well as Financial Markets and Transaction Services.
* Credit risk experience.
