Job Description A rare opportunity for an Electrician to join our Engineering Team has arisen here at Fairmont St Andrews This role will be a Full-Time position, however working hours will be negotiable. A little about what you will be doing: All electrical repairs and maintenance must comply with local codes and guidelines. Ensure all electrical distribution equipment is properly labelled. All lockout/tagout procedures must be adhered to. Check flexible cords, appliance cords for condition. Ensure no extension cords are being used permanently affixed to equipment or devices. Bi-annually clean inside of switchgear, transfer switch panel boards, and MCC's associated enclosures. Check for evidence of water leaks and/or condensation of switchgear and panels. High voltage switchgear and transformers owned by property must be inspected and serviced annually by a qualified high voltage contractor, where available. Check enclosures for structural integrity and personnel protection from hazards. Adhere to H&S Guidelines to ensure personal safety. Annually perform an infrared inspection (thermoscan) of all wiring connections, including: Switchgear Disconnects Motor Control Centres Panel boards Bus Bars Motors Starters and Contactors Automatic Transfer Switches Transformers Emergency Power System Frequency of maintenance will depend upon operating conditions, power consuming additions and/or the manufacturer's recommendations. Assure proper testing and maintenance of emergency generators, test battery pack, emergency lighting, exit signage, elevator operation under emergency Electrically test transfer switched from normal to emergency position. Maintain highest standards for the maintenance and safe operation of issued tools and equipment. Other duties as directed by the Director of Facilities as required.
