Brief Description
We are seeking a full-time Ergonomic Specialist to work with one of our global automobile manufacturing clients as part of its global Production Engineering Prevention Through Design Team. The role will support our client’s production engineering, design and manufacturing teams within their automotive manufacturing facility in Cambridge.

We have an uninterrupted three-decade relationship with this organization and currently provide ergonomics, project safety, occupational hygiene and HSE program support services, working at multiple locations throughout North America.
Position Summary
The Ergonomic Specialist will be consulted on and analyze planned vehicle and parts designs, modifications, engineering and manufacturing methods, to advise on ways and means of optimizing manufacturing employee task efficiency and minimizing risks of injury and harm. This position will report to the client and a managing principal of CrossSafety Holding Inc.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proactively identify ergonomic concerns for auto assembly workers by evaluating 2D and 3D drawings and visual models of vehicles, parts, and assembly suites.
2. Design and conduct studies to evaluate ergonomic issues (force, posture, clearance) and determine root causes of injury and countermeasures.
3. Field data collection and analysis using typical ergonomic software.
4. Recommend, explain, and advocate design countermeasures to reduce ergonomic risk.
5. Identify and assess ergonomic hazards in the workplace.
6. Production of technical reports following a standard documentation procedure.
7. Instruct and/or facilitate subject domain-related training as required.
8. Advise on the organization of production lines and workstations.
9. Develop solutions for short and long-term risk reduction.
10. Other duties commensurate with the role as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree with coursework emphasis in relevant subjects (e.g. ergonomics, biomechanics, kinesiology/human kinetics, exercise science, human factors, industrial engineering), and/or completion of a post-baccalaureate diploma or master’s degree specializing in ergonomics or human factors engineering.
2. Ergonomic analysis and problem-solving experience, ideally in manufacturing.
3. Occasional travel in NA and potentially Japan when required.
