Deputy Manager - Residential Children's Home - EBD Milton Keynes £29,120 with incentives up to £4,500 per annum An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Deputy Manager, for a Residential Children's Home in Milton Keynes This provider specialises in supporting children with EBD and other associated complex needs. Our team of experienced adults in each home applies a therapeutic approach in a warm and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities Care & Support Support the effective implementation of care plans tailored to young people's emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs. Ensure all care provided meets the requirements of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards. Promote active participation and decision-making by young people in their care and daily routines. Safeguard children’s welfare, acting as a designated safeguarding lead when required. Respond effectively to incidents and crises, ensuring a safe and supportive home environment. Leadership & Management Support and lead the staff team to maintain high standards of care and conduct. Assist with recruitment, training, supervision, and appraisals. Help foster a positive team culture with clear communication and shared goals. Take charge of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager. Training & Development Oversee staff training and ensure mandatory requirements are met. Support induction, ongoing professional development, and performance reviews. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and learning. Operations & Compliance Monitor and maintain quality standards, health and safety, and regulatory compliance. Ensure accurate recording and reporting in line with policies and legislation. Manage staffing rotas and ensure sufficient coverage to meet the needs of the home. Finance & Resources Support budget management, petty cash procedures, and resource allocation. Ensure the home is well-maintained and equipped to a high standard. Criteria Essential: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent 4 years’ experience in children’s residential care 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role Knowledge of relevant legislation and inspection frameworks Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills Emotional resilience and the ability to manage challenging behaviour Benefits Extra 8 hours annual leave for your birthday Bonus structure.
